Pattaya Park

In light of the recent tragic injuries to a number of children at Siam Park in Bangkok, our very own Pattaya Park decided to review their maintenance and security procedures, making any necessary upgrades to assure the very best levels of safety for our children.

Khun Srisukporn, general manager of Pattaya Park, sat down with our Pattaya City Supporters reporter to tell us about some of the changes that have taken place at the park.

Security
"Our directors had a meeting to discuss security measures", said Srisukporn, "and the feeling was we were not doing enough to protect our children. A number of the directors wanted to install guard towers with search lights and armed guards as well as attack dogs, but in the end it was decided that barbed wire would provide a sufficient level of security for any likely intrusion in the park. Some members felt the barbed wire might be a deterrent to more sensitive visitors, but it was realized the park hardly ever gets any sensitive visitors and that no one would notice the barbed wire. Sure enough, this has turned out to be the case!"

Safety
As you might imagine, safety for the children is of primary concern to the park's operators. After the Siam Park injuries, the park revisited its safety protocols and decided to double the annual safety budget from 1,000 to 2,000 baht and to do a number of upgrades (staying within the budget of course). The picture at the right shows one of the park's custom designed safety upgrades: a new barrier to prevent children from accidentally falling into the deep end of the pool.

Food
The park recently hired a new Food and Beverage manger, Khun Kintuksing. He was formerly the F&B manager of the well know Suriwong Hotel in Bangkok and has been engaged in an on-going plan to upgrade the food facilities in the park. One of his first taks was to install new flooring in the kitchen area to bring it into compliance with ISO 2002 standards.Kuhn Kintuksing has also changed a number of procedures in the kitchen area, including the insistance the the cooking oil be changed weekly (in the past it was changed monthly). "We aim to be a provider of first class fare," he told our reporter and we can see that he is certainly well on his way! He went on to tell us that the park is aiming for a higher class of visitors, so they are upgradeing all their facilities in an attempt to lure these upmarket guests. Of course only time will tell if they are successful in these endeavors, but we believe they are off to a fine start.

Aesthetics
Of course families want a comfortable, clean environment so the park is aiming to achieve that as well. I'm sure everyone will agree that they have done an excellent job with their upgrades as these pictures show.

Health
Nothing is more important to families than the health of their children. The park, of course, realizes that and has spared no expense to continually upgrade the bathrooms and shower facilities.
